Since I never seen Snoop Dogg perform live before, I decided to go to his concert at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mt. Pleasant, MI. The concert was on August 10, 2025 in the outside concert venue. I purchased a ticket for a space back near the hill and not closest to the stage. I filmed video of most of Snoop Doggs awesome performance but my phone camera was bumped and it must have stopped recording for about 10 minutes, maybe less. I edited the footage together nicely. (it might have just been a few minutes)
Seeing Snoop Dogg live was a great experience. My childhood friend Frankie introduced me to Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s music when we were younger living in Detroit. Since then, I would listen to them every so often, whether it be initially on cassette and cd or now on streaming sites. I am a fan of Snoop Dogg’s rhyme flow and the way he raps. He is one of the top rappers in my opinion.
Too Shorts performance was also top notch. It was kind of difficult to film in a crowed of compacted people who were constantly moving to the music but I managed to film well. The video was zoomed most of the time. I like how Snoop opened his set with the enigmatic Carmina Burana cantata music. That was awesome and surprised me since one of my favorite bands, Enigma, sampled Carmina Burana in a few songs on their album The Screen Behind The Mirror.
It was about a 2 hour and 20-minute drive to Mt. Pleasant from Metro Detroit Michigan. I do not mind the drive since I enjoy driving and listening to music. It can be very calming. I call it “Zen-like”. The concert lasted until late at night so I rented a room at the Chippewa Motel that was down the road from the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort. It was a nice stay and quality room so I gave them a great rating in an online review.
